Visitor Information

These are some frequently asked questions asked by people visiting our church for the first time. If your query isn’t covered here please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Who are we?

Weston Methodist Church consists of a wide range of different people across the Trent Valley community, from all ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are, be assured that you will receive a very warm welcome at Weston Methodist Church.

When should I arrive?

The Sunday morning services start at 10:30am and generally last an hour. Most people start arriving about 15 minutes before the start of the service. You’ll be greeted in the foyer and given information about the church and notices of forthcoming events.

What should I wear?

We have no particular dress code, believing that God accepts us as we are. Please feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

What should I expect?

We start our worship at 10:30am with a few notices keeping us informed of diary dates etc. followed by our call to worship. Our worship time consists of a mixture of traditional and modern hymns and songs, bible readings and a talk by the worship leader. We welcome children and young people of all ages to our worship at Weston. We have a team of regular children’s leaders who are all DBS checked. They take the children out to their own activities, known as Bible Time, partway through the service. We aim to give your children a fun time whilst learning about Jesus through stories, games and craft. We also have musical instruments for children to use during hymns. Tea and coffee are available after the service, with a chance to talk to other church members and visitors.

Accessibility

Our building has level access for visitors in wheelchairs and there is a toilet for people with disabilities.

Hearing aid users may benefit from using our induction loop, please switch your hearing aid to the “T” setting. Our services are recorded into CD, which is available for those who are unable to attend in person.

The words of the hymns and songs for each service are displayed by video projection. Large print hymn books are also available for our Sunday services.
